I’ve got some lovely sweetness to share today from this summer family photography session. This was a midday shoot, which normally I try to avoid because of the harsh lighting, but we tried to shoot as much of it in the shade as possible, and the family was so flexible and we made it work. I’m in love all of the bright cheery colors with all the greenery. The Savells had family visiting from out of town, so we were able to get everyone together, and even got some shots of the two cousins. These two sweeties adore one another! You’ll see a couple of their cute kissing moments. We’re talking heart-melting status here!
I love shooting this kind of session because we were able to get a bunch of real-life candid moments, as they were happening, in addition to the traditional posed shots. Those real moments are the ones we treasure later on as parents… and help us remember our kids as they really were. That is something very important to me as a mom AND a photographer. Even though I was fighting nausea from being pregnant in my first trimester, this very well may be one of my favorite sessions from this year.
